Approved List
of HIV/AIDS Educational Materials

|
Persons in private and public health care professions are
increasingly confronted with difficult and complex HIV/AIDS
issues. Providing up-to-date information on HIV/AIDS is
necessary for the delivery of prevention effort to communities
within the State of Florida. |
|
In response to this need for up-to-date information, the Florida Department
of Health, through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention, has formed an HIV/AIDS educational materials review panel also
known as the Carlos Alvarez Program Review Panel. |
|
The purpose of this panel is to make recommendations to the department
regarding HIV/AIDS messages designed to communicate with the highly diverse
makeup of citizens and visitors in Florida.
|
|
This Approved List of HIV/AIDS Educational Materials is a searchable database
of all the materials that have been submitted to the panel for review and are currently
approved. Because these are teaching tools, some of these materials are explicit
in nature. Please note:
|
- This site contains HIV prevention messages that may not be appropriate for all
audiences. Since HIV infection is spread primarily through sexual practices or by
sharing needles, prevention messages and programs may address these topics. If you
are not seeking such information or may be offended by such materials, please exit this website.
|
All materials should be ordered directly from the vendor. Vendor addresses and
phone numbers are listed in the Vendor List. The Florida Department of Health does
not act as a vendor for materials and does not endorse any material, either directly,
or by the inclusion of said material, on the Approved List of HIV/AIDS Educational
Materials. |
|
In addition to the materials listed here, any educational material developed by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and/or the Health Resources and Services
Administration (HRSA) are also acceptable for purchase and use with Florida Department of
Health contracts. |
